Jim Anderson

Jim Anderson is the Senior Project Manager for Premiere Landscape Services located in S.E. Michigan. Prior to this Jim was the Operations and Production Manager for a top 100 snow contractor for 22 years. In 2004 Jim received SIMA’s Employee of the Year Award and in 2012 a special recognition award from ASCA for leadership, contributions and attention to detail for his participation in authoring the professional snow and ice industry’s written Industry Standards. Jim is also a certified handler of his registered therapy dog Luther and spends time volunteering in hospitals and medical facilities as a Pet Therapy team.

Rick Bell

Arctic Snow and Ice Control, Inc.

Rick Bell has been the General Manager at Arctic Snow and Ice control for the past 10 Years. He Graduated CUM LAUD from Colorado Technical University where he earned his B.S. in Operational Management. Rick has over 25 years of operation’s management experience, 15 years of that at AT&T as construction/infrastructure Area Manager. Rick is currently a member of the ASCA Industry Standards Committee, holds his ASCA-C certificate and has successfully completed Arctic’s ISO SN9000:2012 with Design certification. Rick is also a Team Leader, Volunteer and fundraiser for Chicagoland’s Les Turner ALS Foundation.

Chris Carter

Chris joined Everest Snow Management as a Business Development Officer bringing the company new business by using his past experience as a commercial real estate broker. Currently, as Vice President, he is responsible for leading the overall management of the company through his strong business acumen, focusing on strategic planning and the implementation of policies and procedures. Chris works closely with ownership as an integrator to the company, ensuring the ownership’s vision is realized. He also spearheaded the company’s efforts in obtaining the ISO9001SN Certification in 2015 and is active in BOMA Suburban Chicago as the Vice Chair of the Associates Committee. In 2016, he worked with the ASCA team and their efforts to pass Senate Bill 2138 in Springfield Illinois.

Steve Clark

Steve Clark joined EnviroTech Services in 2012. International researcher, chemistry consultant, and manufacturing information officer, Steve’s experience enhances the Research and Development team’s skills set. Utilizing his analytical chemistry background, Steve brings instrumentation expertise and testing methodology development to the field scientist group. His current emphasis is to extend laboratory experimentation into real world testing and monitoring. He earned his Analytical Chemistry PhD from the University of Arkansas and completed post-doctoral studies with industrial partner Kabi Pharmacia and the Applied Physics Department at Linköping University in Linköping, Sweden.

Josh Ferguson

Joshua G. Ferguson is a Partner at the law firm of Freeman, Mathis & Gary. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. He works primarily in the areas of commercial premises, transportation, contract, insurance coverage, and construction defect litigation, and has litigated cases throughout the United States. Mr. Ferguson serves as general counsel for a wide variety of businesses, including those in the construction, snow and ice management, and landscaping industries. James Flanigan

James Flanigan is a safety and security professional with close to 25 years’ experience and holds certifications as both an OSHA and USDOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector. Jim has worked for and alongside numerous local, state and federal law enforcement agencies such as the U.S. Department of Transportation, Department of Labor, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Secret Service and the Department of State on numerous joint ventures. David J. Frank

David J. Frank has been an influential figure in the green industry for more than five decades. He has also played a leadership role in developing best practices for snow and ice management, pioneered the use of liquid anti-icers and has two decades of experience using environmentally friendly organic deicing agents. Kevin Gilbride

In 2010, as Publisher of Snow Magazine, Gilbride and his team launched Snow Magazine's Leadership and Top 100 Conference, a first-of-its-kind, high-end, executive-level education conference. It was at the first conference where industry leaders spoke passionately about the negative impact insurance issues -- namely skyrocketing premiums -- were having on the industry. At the request of industry leaders, Gilbride and Snow Magazine made a thorough assessment of these claims and issues. In August 2011, GIE Media announce the creation of the Accredited Snow Contractors Association, with Gilbride being named Executive Director, the position he holds today. Within a year of the association's inception, the ASCA established the industry's first set of professional standards, developed an educational-based certification program, instituted an ISO9001-based certification program specifically for the professional snow removal industry, and has taken an active stance toward tort reform.

Robert Holmes

Robert Holmes is President of Spectrum Weather and Specialty Insurance, Inc. Spectrum has grown to become the largest independent weather insurance brokerage in the U.S., and was recently named by Insurance Business America as one of the country’s top specialty insurance brokers. Spectrum offers weather-related insurance products, including rain insurance and event cancellation coverage, to a variety of outdoor events, and specializes in providing snowfall-based insurance to those in the business of snowfall removal. Mr. Holmes earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Robert and his family currently reside near Kansas City, Missouri.

Tammy Johnson

John Allin Consutling

Tammy Johnson has spent over 20 years in the snow and ice management industry. She was the executive director of SIMA for 10 of those years, for a private contracting company for 2 and then as executive director of Snowfighters Institute. When the ASCA introduced industry standards and SN 9001, Tammy jumped at the chance to get involved. She spent time learning the ISO process and became an ISO 9001:2008 lead auditor. This experience auditing manufacturing companies in the quality management standard allowed her to better understand the process that snow and ice management companies would need to go through to obtain their certification. As an ISO Lead Auditor, Tammy brings with her the necessary experience in ISO 9001 Standards as well as the snow and ice management industry. She has now helped most of those companies that proudly have achieved their ISO 9001/SN 9001 Certified.

Dale Keep

Ice & Snow Technologies, Inc.

Dale Keep has 26 years of experience with WSDOT in all aspects of snow and ice control on a statewide basis. He was instrumental in forming the Pacific Northwest Snowfighters. Co-authored their original deicer specifications and testing protocol. Through FHWA Anti-Icing Outreach Program, Dale Keep was able to assist agencies with policies, procedures, equipment specifications/operations, deicer purchases and use, and training. Keep served as member of Civil Engineering Research committees evaluating performance and environmental issues associated with deicers. Currently he is a consultant with the private and public sector for problem solving and training regarding snow and ice and associated challenges. Dale Keep has been hired as winter operations expert by various groups and industries.

Mr. Pereira draws on more than 37 years of professional experience in planning, architecture, construction, real estate development, construction claims and property maintenance, including 23 years as a facility safety consultant addressing facility safety issues, code conformance, facility design, construction administration, and construction claims. Mr. Pereira has been qualified more that 90 times to provide testimony in Federal and State courts and arbitration venues. Denver knew nothing about deicers, but that was okay because neither did anyone else at K-Tech! In 2010 K-Tech embarked on a journey to develop a new “green” deicer. The goal was ambitious. Create an environmentally friendly deicer that outperforms the best performing deicers known! Today, K-Tech supplies “green” deicer to more than 200 winter maintenance entities in 8 states. Peter Smolka

Peter Smolka is one of the two Founders of Everest Snow Management, which was established in 2001. He is a true entrepreneur and a visionary that offers clear insight for the direction of the company. Peter takes a hands-on approach to his business, always challenging the company to ask, “What worked, what didn’t work and what would we change, if we could do it again”. In 1995 Peter started with investing $500 in a mower, a weed waker, a broom and two thousand marketing flyers. He was off on a journey that would end with he and his wife growing Everest Snow Management to a constantly evolving, regional snow plowing and ice control company. One of the pivotal moments in the company was when Peter decided to invest in developing a proprietary software, which enabled Everest to grow exponentially over the last 16 years. When the ASCA was created, Peter was appointed as one of the first members of the Board of Advisers. He helped create industry standards and the ISO9001SN Certification. Peter was also a major contributor in supporting the efforts in creating Illinois Senate Bill 2138, which was a pivotal win for the snow and ice industry in 2016. Today Peter stays focused and dedicated to constantly improving the lives of his Clients, Team and Partners.
